The Process

We begin restoring your timber sash & case windows by disassembling the old baton rods, parting beads and existing sashes.

We then set about hand stripping the paint and putty from the sashes to clean everything back to basics.

Any cracked or broken panes of glass are replaced on site.

Sash And Case Window Renovation In Action

The Clean up Begins

We sand, then plane down the sashes to a smooth, clean finish. Bad paint jobs or warping can impede free movement, lead to draughts and create rattles. Our work eliminates these issues.

We move onto the casement, stripping all existing paintwork and sand-mastic, filling any holes or decay and sanding down to leave a clean, smooth surface ready for painting.

Upgrade The Details

Worn sash cords and pulleys are upgraded with heavy duty replacements and we can upgrade all ironmongery to your specification.

We then re-weight the sashes and hang back into their case. Installing simplex hinges and additional security features is an option at this point.

We also install industry leading draught-exclusion brush strips with new baton rods and parting beads to improve the thermal efficiency of your windows and reduce street noise. Once we are confident that the sashes are moving free and smooth we move on to painting.

Professional painting is vital to the longevity of your sash & case windows. Both to make sure it doesn’t impact the smooth movement of the sashes, but also to prevent any future water damage.
